During 1401’s long life, the building has been home to some of Philadelphia’s most venerable institutions including the Manufacturer’s Club, Central Penn Bank, the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and various other businesses seeking an address with exceptional presence and architectural character. The stately proportions of the neo-classical building inspired the architectural language employed in its transformation into 36 dwellings. The interior design was accomplished by employing an innovative look of clean lines and orchestrating the easy transition of materials and spaces throughout.
