La Fundación Geraldine R. Dodge se dedica a otorgar fondos para el desarrollo de proyectos en el campo de la educación, las artes y el medio ambiente. Su misión ambientalista urgía que su nueva sede corporativa en Morristown New Jersey fuera la más sostenible. Con este propósito se plantea un “biomuro” o jardín vertical de plantas hidropónicas como el elemento principal del diseño interior. El objetivo de este es el de evacuar las impurezas del aire interior al estar conectado con el sistema de exhosto del edifico.
El diseño interior articula los objetivos de sostenibilidad, ideales de la fundación, con la fluidez espacial y la función arquitectónica. El proyecto obtendrá la certificación LEED Platino.
The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation grants funding for projects on education, the arts and the environment. Their sustainability mission demanded the greenest interiors for their new corporate headquarters in Morristown New Jersey. For this purpose, their 4,000 sf office spaces feature the third bio-wall built in America. A three-story high vertical garden planted with hydroponic species which is connected to the exhaust system of the building and evacuates the CO2 for a cleaner indoor air. This operation is monitored constantly. Interiors have been highly detailed with sustainable finishes to reflect the spirit of the foundation corporate ideals and the correct marriage between design and environmentally conscious materials. The project is intended to obtain the LEED platinum certification.
